The VS-F48D provides a highly flexible, high density RAID.

The VS-F48D is a 4U rack mount high performance Fibre Channel RAID storage solution that can accommodate up to 48 SATA drives for up to 36 TB of storage. Based on a modular, “building block” design, the RAID offers exceptional scalability. It supports various RAID levels. An optional 4U expansion chassis doubles the storage to 72 TB.

It is the perfect partner to VMETRO's Vortex data recorder family. Some application examples include:

1) Using a Vortex VXS recorder with dual 4Gb/s Fibre Channel ports, the VS-F48D RAID can store data at 420MB/s on the inner tracks using RAID5.

2) Using a Vortex recorder with a single 4Gb/s Fibre Channel port, the VS-F48D can store up to 320MB/s on inner tracks of 48-disk drives using RAID5.
