VMETRO Pte Ltd, Singapore is looking for a results-oriented team player to join the system engineering team that supports VMETRO’s Embedded Systems products. This key player will join a team that provides technical support to the APAC sales organization and customers as well as advances the use of VMETRO’s products through a number of activities. Activities include the development of customer-specific firmware, software, and device drivers; the integration of third-party hardware; and potentially custom hardware design. This team also provides engineer-to-engineer pre- and post-sales technical support.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement system-level solutions for customers
- Work with third-party partners to integrate their products with VMETRO’s products
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales support on VMETRO’s Embedded Systems products
- Work with technical sales team to develop system implementation proposals
- Write technical papers and application notes which illustrate how VMETRO’s technology can be used to address issues relevant to the markets served
- Limited travel within Asia Pacific is required
Minimum Requirements/Experience:
- Bachelor/Masters degree in Electronics / Computer Engineering
- FPGA firmware development experience, preferably with the Xilinx Virtex family of FPGAs using VHDL
- Working knowledge of C/C++
- Hardware design experience a plus
- Embedded software development experience, including in-depth understanding of device driver development, DMA transfers and interrupt handling
- Working knowledge of VxWorks RTOS and Windows internals
- Basic knowledge of VMEbus, PCI bus, RTOSs, and data flow analysis
- Basic understanding of high speed digital design concepts and issues
- Three or more years of related experience in development, application, or systems engineering
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Position will be based in Singapore
