Umem NVRAM cards are solid state, non-volatile PCI memory cards that increase performance while maintaining reliability in storage servers and appliances. Utilizing low power, battery backed SDRAM devices and a high speed PCI bus interface, there is virtually no latency when transferring data to the cards as compared to other stable storage devices such as rotating hard disk drives.
For journaling filesystem or write-caching applications, Umem cards can accelerate synchronous operations that involve directory or inode updates, journal logs and meta- data, data base snapshots, stateful information including cluster check points, time stamps and changes to actual file data.
